I have to buy full protect that was a sore point.. but I left at home my mastercard I just take the debit one so its a rule there I tought..I accepted it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Took a deposit of my credit card and told me it had declined and also took it of my debit card. Neither of the cards have been refunded and it has been over a week. Emailed them and also tried to call them but they don’t seem to understand english, How convenient. Really steessed out as the car was returnes all perfect and also paid the extra 9 Euros for the car wash. Got the invoice in the email for the rental but no mentioning of the deposit which is blocked on both my cards.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I thought a lot before booking with Europcar Charleroi when I saw the reviews here. However, I had good experience with Europcar in other cities and never had a problem, so I booked it anyways.
I must say I had a very nice and smooth experience with Europcar Charleroi. I went there at around 11 am. It was busy and I had to wait for 15 min before I could talk to a representative. They spoke English which made the process easier. I had done an online booking, so it didnt take much time. I had booked basic insurance and added a value cover that added windshiled tyre etc. As I was planning to travel a lot I had booked unlimited kms. One confusion was, it was mentioned that roadside assistance was included but apparantly it was not and I had to book it extra. It didnt cost much anyways.
The car I booked was mentioned as “on request” and confirmation was pending. I got an email in 10 min confirming the vehicle was available. I got almost new car that had done 8000 kms only and I got the car I had asked for.
I was returning the vehicle early in the morning when the office was closed. I was informed that I had to park the vehicle in any parking slot that mentioned Europcar and drop the keys in a gray coloured return box that was outside the office. I did so and hoped that I wont be charged unnecessary expenses unknown to me. I got an invoice in 3 days that said everything is paid for and I dont need to pay anything extra.
I recommend Europcar and would like to add that ask as many questions as you can to make sure that nothing comes as a surprise because thats what I did.
I will book with them again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The staff was very kind. Nobody attempted to sell us more expensive insurance nor charge us more than 300 EUR of deposit. Procedures were extremely simple and fast. They didn't have a car reserved by us, so they gave us brand new car (10.000 km of mileage), one class higher than reserved one, hence I can't complain. :-) Deposit was cancelled from my credit card after about two weeks.

We had a contract via rent a car. We paid for three days 182.32 euros.
When we went to Charleroi, they kept us also 300 euros as an insurance deposit but that was normal.
The day after , we chose to leave the car in a europcar point in Netherlands. We called them because the employee in Netherlands wanted their permission. At first they said ok but that it will be an extra charge 500 euros. After that they said 250 euros. We agreed to 250 euros. We left the car there and after 4 days we had a total charge 790 euros!!! We kept the car only one day although we had pay for three days and they charged us 500 euros because we left the car in Netherlands (in the phone they said 250 euros) and plus 107 euros for one day rent in europcar and for the extra miles while the miles were limitless!!!
Terrible!! the worst rental service ever!!!! We sent them e mail, they said that they can not do anything because in our contract says that we had to go back the car to Charleroi, but we had asked their permission before we do that and they said ok!!!
