Duizend jaar geleden werd in Japan vis bewaard in vaten met gefermenteerde rijst. Letterlijk betekent sushi ‘gemarineerde rijst’. Zo ontstond de klassieke Japanse sushi, een bolletje rijst met daarop een plakje rauwe vis.
Bij Zaowang betekent sushi veel meer. Op ons menu vind je sashimi, nigiri, sushi, hoso maki, temaki en een groot assortiment futo maki. Je kan à la carte kiezen of gaan voor een van onze combo’s.
Er zijn sushi maki boten voor 2, 3 en 4 personen. Tevens kan je sushi en andere gerechten afhalen, zowel voor een snelle hap als voor een feestelijke gelegenheid.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Before we ordered there were shrimp crackers (kroepoek) to snack on, which was kind of strange since it is not Japanese... The sushi was nicely presented on a 2 person boat, but was not all too special. I also took a small bowl of miso soup, but it was a bit salty to my taste.

Great place for sushi. We went there as a large group- 10 people.
We made our reservations in advance.
We ordered sushi boats ( shareable 2-3 persons) , pad thai and curries.
Everysingle thing was delicious.
We also savoured couple of bottles of wine.
We got a bill of 340 euros which is reasonable considering a meal for 10 people with a good amount of wine ;)

I ordered the Nigiri combo classic sushi: € 20 for 10 pieces.
It's not cheap at € 2 apiece but considering the quality and the presentation,
it's what you can expect to pay in Antwerp.
The staff was friendly, the service was quite swift and the interior cozy. Zaowang Zuid also offers terrace seating.
One of the better options to order sushi in Antwerp.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a correct and not too expensive japanese where you can order massive portions of sushi. I ordered what you see in the attached pictures (mostly sushi, and meat - I prefered sushi than meat). I recommend it if you are in a hurry and don't want to rush into complicated reservations or exquisite decoration.
The service was excellent.
