β β β β β Nice atmosphere, and quite an old school vibe. Comfortable seating, and good selection of Films. Speech intelligibility is not great and overall sound quality is disappointing.

β β β β β Weird setup of the chairs (way too flat for me) and the screen seemed far far away because of that. Also weird screen size. However, the bar was quite nice (had a lovely homemade lemonade) and the people working at the cinema were really friendly and helpful!

β β β β β Cozy movie theater with 5 screening theaters on 3 floors.Next to it there's also a bar and restaurant.
The program mainly consists of arthouse movies and retakes of classics but also regular blockbusters can be seen here. The theaters are not as big or state-of-the-art as the main multiplex chains Kinepolis or UGC but are quite cosy with decent seats. Entrance price in general is lower than a ticket for Kinepolis or UGC.
Sphinx Cinema regularly invites guests and movie reviewers and is one of the participating venues for the yearly Ghent Filmfestival.
