★ ★ ★ ★ ★ "The place to get ripped off", parking meters do not accept credit cards, but didn't gave an error and presented us with a "Thank you have a nice day message", since we had to enter our license plate, we were under the assumption it was ok like this (because parking meters where you need to enter a license plate usually never give a ticket in Belgium). We where wrong and were presented with an expensive fine, the company managing those fines/meters denied that the parking meters where not working and thus we needed to pay the fine... A lot of people including 4 colleagues have been tricked into this way of parking fraud...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very cheap parking in Mechelen, there is a lot of space. But on a busy day or when the colleges are open there is a chance that the parking is full because it's 100m from thomas more and students park there everyday.

Good choise if the weather permits it, 10 minute walk to the town center.
