A treasure of Ghent! Lots of textiles and printing on show.. Their machines are still running during the day by their staff! Although the machines are noisy, it's really interesting how the industry used to work in Ghent. Tip: go to the top floor, and you'll see one of the best views of the skyline of Ghent

Well organised, interesting and interactive. However, it's a pitty that almost all of the written information is only in Flemish.

Some fine pieces from the worlds of cotton-spinning and printing, well presented. Pleasant cafΓ©. Allow 2 hours or more.

Very nice museum, almost free if you are young. The textile and printing exposition was interesting and fun.

The woman on reception was the most welcoming person ever. She introduced the MIAT to us explaining what was on each floor. The displays were interactive and would be great for older children. The video presentations by actors of characters in history was fantastic. So good in fact we had to remember to look at the details in each room. There were some unique presentation ideas with screens made from ropes that were an impressive use of space. There were loads of old machinery on display, films of them in operation and also some weavers and textile artists operating looms and creating product. A recommended 40 minutes for the 5th and 2nd floors. The print floor was closed for renovation when we were there.

It's clear that a lot of effort went into this museum: interesting, well explained and detailed, a lot to learn in terms of history and technique. Got to see how Ghent was a major industrial city and how it all developed. Great value for money for people under 25 as well.

One great experience! A thorough approach on both the local and global textile and printing industry. The display of machines and the actual working processes are without match! Thank you! The staff (especially the typesetters - thank you for the great talk and the special present for my amazed father) is very nice, helpful and making sure it is a great experience no matter the conditions.

Beautiful museum very well located with a little restaurant. And also the view through the windows is amazing. One of the few museums I could go to together with the kids and still enjoy as an adult. This because they have a special edition for the kids, in Dutch but still, the creative corners can be used and play for all kids no matter language. Totally kid friendly!!
