The accent is very Gentse...the welcome warm.

Cafe Folklore is potentially the last independent Volkscafe in Gent. You can get Jupiler and Stella from the tab. The owners are a lovely couple that have been in the trade for ages. The interior is unique and real. And when you are lucky they are just serving kroakemandels as a snack with your beer - a true and rate specialty from Gent. Sadly - these kind of places hardly exist anymore and will be gone in a couple of years. So enjoy it while it lasts and definitely pay Cafe Folklore a visit.
P.s.: One day I visited together with my 6 year old son - Marina - the owner - just had her lunch - she shared her fries with my son! That‘s nothing you will ever experience in any vegan hipster instragram coffee joint!
