★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I took the "Bike Mechanics, the basics" workshops part 1 and 2 in English, in May 2019 at the Cyclo workshop in Bockstael. I cannot recommend these workshops enough! Going in as someone who uses her bike every day but had no idea how it worked or how to fix even the smallest niggle, these workshops opened up a new world to me! You learn so much in the 4 hours, from how a bike works, how to fix a puncture with as few tools as possible, how to check your bike is ok and perform basic maintenance. Everything is demonstrated directly on your own bike and is very hands-on. The instructor takes time for every single question and empowers you to not be afraid of tinkering with your bike! I would recommend this course to anyone.

When doing so, the staff all the sudden turned from friendly non profit to money machine. Laughing away the fact that I'd rather not buy the most expensive tires for a bike that is worth about the same as those tires.
