★ ★ ★ ★ ★ De staff we were waited from was rather unfriendly, the place smells of smoke even if it is smoke free. It has great potential, both as location and building but it would require some intensive modernization.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Old restaurant, favorite for people visiting the Middelheim park. Typical menu of Flemish dishes like vol au vent, stoofvlees, stewed rabbit, crowue monsieur etc. Wafels and pancakes are only available between 2pm and 5pm, and the kitchen will refuse to make them anytime sooner or later than that. Food is good and not expensive, waiting staff could be better (for example walks by you without seeing you need something.)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The restaurant is located on the edge of the Nachtegalen Park and is ideal to finish off a walk though the park. The food is traditional Flemish and always good. They also have a nice terrace when the weather is nice but the traffic noise can be bothersome at times.

But totally NOT adapted to the COVID situation. No real distancing. Pepper, salt and menus still on the table. Staff is hugging customers...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Renewed interior !! We have known this place for a very long time: at the entrance of one of the nice green areas (“Parc”) right at the outside ring (5-lane highway) circumnavigating city of Antwerp.
It’s now evolved in a very very fine-taste upper class restaurant —lunch & dinner—, ànd a tearoom in between.
Nice view on beautiful big old OAKs and “Weeping Willow” trees.
Very comfortable seats…for long coffee- (meeting- & discussion-) times….
