I decided to make Japan my home. During the five years I spent in Japan, I switched from being a filmmaker to a cook. I learned the trade by working in restaurants specializing in Italian & Japanese cuisine. Eventually, my path lead back to Europe, and specifically to Brussels. I am glad to share my passion for fresh, local ingredients & Japanese cuisine with you.

Welcome to my kitchen !

Okay food. I was probably expecting a little more regarding japanese food which im a big fan of. Something in taste and precision is missing to call it β€œauthentic japanese food” for me. However, crew is nice and products are fresh.

As a Nutritionist this is one of the most balance meals I have had in a restaurant. As a food lover it comes close to being some of the most delicious Japanese home cooking I have come across.

Probably the best Japanese food I've had in Brussels! I can't speak to the authenticity but it was really delicious! The set menus that change every week really give you a chance to try a lot of different things for just 14 euros, and there's always a vegetarian option.

Undoubtedly the best meal I have had in Brussels in the last few years. Thoughtful, interesting dishes, reasonably priced, washed down with a delightful bottle of sake. The sides really stole the show for me, one was roasted pumpkin slices in a subtle vinegar sauce, not too acid, not too sweet, so simple yet surprising. Then the thinly sliced kohlrabi folded over a miso and pumpkin seed mixture - like dumplings - were such delicious little bites. The Japanese-style fried chicken, while very tasty, was what I expected. Quite inventive creations otherwise: the oysters with sea-buckthorn ponzu, the spinach with shaved egg, the pork with leeks and some vegetable heretofore unknown to me, all surprised and delighted with every bite. Can't wait to go back and try the next menu they create!

This place blows my mind every time. The constantly changing menus, the flavours, the ingredients. Tokidoki offers such a great take on japanese food: "grandma style", and you can feel the love with every bite you take. Top tip: even if you're an omnivore, try the vegetarian options! They're always just as good and exciting (and sometimes even more) than the meat options.
