★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I‘m a real beer enthusiast and that is why the Struise Beershop is getting three stars - it would be less otherwise and includes a lot of goodwill!
The Beershop is garage and has the atmosphere of an garage. It is quite messy, has zero charm or concept but they sell and serve beer.
Prices are quite hefty - at least when you drink from the tap. But you can also drink from the shelve and pay retail prices (so much about the concept…).
The beer selection in the shop is very stout focussed - probably not a surprise considering what Struise Brouwers brew. But they also carry a very nice selection of Geuze. But overall I have seen plenty of Beershops or Drankencentrales in Belgium that had a broader offering. Nevertheless , as a Beer Geek you will find something you will want to buy.
Overall I was disappointed. I have visited plenty of breweries - big and small - around the world and usually loved the experience. Struise Brouwers left me disappointed! There is so much more you could make from such a culinary interesting beer…
