Het stelt een ,,brigand,, voor, wat in het Nederlands ,,struikrover ,, betekent. Dat was de naam die de Franse bezetters tijdens de Boerenkrijg gaven aan de Vlaamse opstandelingen.
 This statue of artist R.Pintens Jr. is located on a grassy square to the left of the chapel on the Laarhofstraat. It represents a "brigand", which in English means "robber". That was the name the French occupiers gave to the Flemish insurgents during the Boerenkrijg.
