The 'stoofvlees' was tasteful but not extraordinary (and almost no vegetables), service was friendly and quick.
Lunch menu is nice (10-dishes), a modest drinks menu and the interior is cosy (but out of style, I think).
Okay, but not special...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a filet Steak with fries here for dinner and i ordered it 'medium'. It came very bloody on one side while almost burnt on the other side.
For me it was still enjoyable, because the quality of the meat was good, so i didn't bother to complain about it, although you can expect that they know how to make a Steak.
Service was friendly, fries and beer were enjoyable, too.
I would guess a price of 35€ for that dinner is average within that region.
Definitly not a mistake to have a meal here, but to rate this with 4 or 5 it was just not good enough, at least on my visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Flanders aren't known for friendly service, but this is a refreshing exception. Significant winds made blew some debris into our glasses, including wine, which we're promptly replaced without question. Then we wanted to move table inside, which they were also very happy to do!
The portions are big, for Belgium at least, but not necessarily heavy. The breadth of daily options not on the fixed menu attest to the creativity of the kitchen, responding to what is available fresh. Each dish is delicate, with a small touch accentuating the flavors. The ribs, for example, are served with some pineapple. And try the watermelon with feta: my first time, but very good. The bread service has its own touch, served with a daily made spread. In our case, if I remember right: carrots, ginger, coriander, and more. Excellent!
Without a doubt we will be back when visiting family in Antwerp.
