I liked it here, there are a lot of things to do. We went for a walk around the domain and also had a small picknick inside.

De Mosten is a small swimming lake in the middle of nowhere. As an official venue of the City of Hoogstraten, it's checked for diseases on a regualr basis, it's cheap and woefully underequipped. This is a good thing. The place feels like the 1950s. I've been coming here for 25+ years and nothing has changed. No booming stereos, no McDonalds, no whining jet ski engines. People automatically disperse around the lake; youngsters at the back (where no one bothers them) and parents with their kids at the front, near the shallow end. There's a playground with swings, slides, a climbing tower and a Big Sandy Hill. Bring a towel, plunk yourself down and break out the apple juice. This is a place for friendly family fun, not for wild parties. There are actual life guards, but it's still advisable to watch your kids. I've seen many a head disappear under water (including my own son's); your kids are your responsability. De Mosten has a brasserie on location; it sells chips (or fries, if you wish), ice cream, crisps and drinks. They will inflate your boat or toy for 50 cents. There are dressing rooms, toilets, a minigolf course, pingpong tables, showers, anything you *really* need is provided. Great place, could use a bit more water (deeper) to swim

What an awesome alternative to going to a chlorinated indoor swimming pool! Great place for families or hanging out with a few friends, clean. There are shady spots. Lawn for those who don't wish to put towels in the sand. There's a playground for kids tired of playing in the water. Snacks and drinks on sale for those who didn't bring their own cooler box.
