★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Een minder bekend punt, waar de littekens van de strijd nog steeds zichtbaar zijn
A lesser known point, where the scars from the battle are still visible

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Zeker de moeite waard om te bezoeken. Hier worden de littekens van de oorlog nog maar eens duidelijk.
Well worth a visit. Here the scars of the war are once again clear.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great view west over the fields towards Ypres, shows the advantage of the high ground. Marks the site of 12 tunnellers killed underground in WW1.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited here in earl April 2016. Only one there, a stark reminder of the dangers of tunneling, and obvious signs around of war - quite a few small craters. Interesting to see the tops of old Rum jars being used to join wires together!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great War Cemetery. In the near vicinity are located the memorial stone to the Liverpool Scottish, and 3 craters formed during the battles.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Royal Engineers Grave at Railway Wood is a thought provoking place to visit. It commemorates 12 soldiers who died in tunnelling operations in the area and whose bodies were never recovered. It is a good place on top of the hill to view Ypres and the surrounding area it is a good idea to read some history of the area before visiting. Parking is limited and it is a short walk to the memorial.
