★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Zeer mooi gebouw op het Kerkplein 17. Dit gebouw was vroeger een herenhuis maar is sinds 1844 in gebruik als gemeentehuis. Dertig jaar later werd het door de gemeente aangekocht.
In 1932- 1933 volgde een grondige renovatie. Boven de deur zien we een reliëf van de Heistse Zwaan. Let ook op het mooie gedenkteken uit de oorlog naast de ingang. Het gemeentepersoneel en de toeristendienst waren tegenover mij zeer behulpzaam en vriendelijk.
Very nice building on Kerkplein 17. This building used to be a mansion but has been used as a town hall since 1844. Thirty years later it was bought by the municipality.
A thorough renovation followed in 1932-1933. Above the door we see a relief of the Heistse Zwaan. Also note the beautiful war memorial next to the entrance. The municipal staff and the tourist office were very helpful and friendly towards me.
