★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The monument is touching, of course, and it is located between a grassy park with families and a beautiful fountain with an obelisk. The problem is how dirty this area looks, with drunk people sleeping under the monument, the smell of pot, it feels like it's better to go somewhere else. In front of the monument is the best I've cream shop in Brussels

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This monument stands in tribute to the pigeon carrier branch of the Belgian armed forces. It's an unusual subject, but no less honourable to the pigeons and their handlers who served Belgium with distinction in times before electronic communications and smartphones made it so easy.
Sadly, the monument is a favourite hangout for the local drunks who disrespectfully use the monument as a toilet. Shameful!
