β β β β β This is a very beautiful entrance gate to the inner city.
The names on the walls are impressive. It makes you very humble and thankful for what those men and women did for our freedom.
Lest we forget!

β β β β β A very humbling place. If you want a to get close to the Bulge Team that performs the ceremony. Arrive 30 to 40 minutes early. Go to the far side (as though you are leaving the city) and stand near the white circle on thr cobblestone. The team performs there. The site is also magnificent, beautiful, and sorrowful.

β β β β β Was here back in 2010 & made a point of being here in the evening for the Last Post. Very moving indeed. Enormous monument that is unfortunately covered in the names over over 50,000 of ww1 dead with no known grave. And then of course, this doesn't nearly cover them all, you still have the likes of the Thiepval memorial for the dead of the Somme. Absolutely tragic.

β β β β β One of the important monuments to commemorate World War I and all the unnamed soldiers who died during this dark period of the 20th century. We were touched by the serenity of the place. A good place to visit.

β β β β β Amazing place with many memories and activities. You can enjoy the place, know more about the first world war, have a drink or a meal in one of many restaurants in the area, also the view feom the above is amazing, and free / paid car parks are available. Also you can see the "Last Post" event every day which is a memorable show for the people who were killed in the war, and you can book a tour with a guide to know more. Highly recommended.
