Leuke terrasjes, leuk om kort te shoppen. Gezellige evenementen in de zomer. Mooie bezienswaardigheden in de buurt (kastelen,natuur,wandel en fietspaden).
In the blue zone: parking for a maximum of 2 hours.
Nice terraces, nice for a short shopping. Cozy events in the summer. Beautiful sights in the area (castles, nature, hiking and biking trails).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The city center of Bilzen is small but very authentic, surrounded by absolutely tourist trap-free shops, pubs and restaurants. In fact, weekend afternoons and evenings are the most recommended times to visit this place for pleasant shopping, eating and drinking. The attraction point and also the reason for our visit was a pre-Christmas event called Dickensland. As I am a Dickens-fan, and as travelling especially to England for anything similar may have required significantly more effort, it sounded like a great idea. Unfortunately, except the great costumes I have seen, the event was diluted into a Disney medley with just anything that would please a 3-year old toddler, or a very drunk adult tourist. Surely this was a well-intended event, but extremely superficial, hence absolutely not worthy of it's name.
