★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This authentic pizzeria uses solely fresh ingredients, the crust is nice and crispy on the outside due to the wood oven. I went twice to this restaurant and had the same experience, the pizza's taste is great but the middle of the pizza is still soggy. I do not have any experience in cooking pizza's my self so I can't comment on the reason for it. But my personal opinion is double, there is no pizzeria in tongeren that uses or can make such fresh pizza's as maccione but I can't get over it that whenever I want to take a bit everything slides off and the dough is soggy in the middle. Im thinking of still going here but with breaks to see if this issue evolves or improves.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We made a reservation at 20:00. When we arrived at the restaurant they told us we didn't confirm the reservation. Apparently they send an email telling us that the hour of reservation was fully booked. However we did not notice this email because it was written in french, even though the restaurant is located in the Dutch speaking part of Belgium. The waiters also did not speak Dutch which made it difficult to place our order. The service was ok. The pizza was tasty but the calzone was undercooked. Given that the prices are a bit steep I expected more. The place was quite crowded with little space to move. I would recommend the pizza but that's about it. I'm probably not going back for the "restaurant" experience.
