★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hier vinden vaak goede tentoonstellingen plaats. Dikwijls is de vormgeving origineel. Maar de ontvangst en de sfeer zijn vrij liefdeloos en vooral ambtelijk. Je voelt goed dat de meeste medewerkers hier niet staan uit liefde voor de letteren. Er is geen boekhandel of leeszaal, geen leesclub, geen ontmoetingen met schrijvers. De idee dat Antwerpen ook een plaats heeft in de internationale letteren is evenmin doorgedrongen. Je bezoekt een wat dorre lokale administratieve stadsdienst.
 Good exhibitions often take place here. The design is often original. But the reception and the atmosphere are quite unloving and above all official. You can feel that most of the employees are not here out of love for the arts. There is no bookshop or reading room, no reading club, no meeting with writers. The idea that Antwerp also has a place in international literature has also not penetrated. You will visit a somewhat barren local administrative city office.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very interesting little museum. I was sceptical at first. I don't speak Flemish, so what am I doing here, but the display has been done in an interesting manner dating back to the time of Jane Austen who would have been a contemporary of some of the Flemish authors. That's intriguing and perked up my desire to read some translated works of Flemish/Dutch authors.
