β β β β β We visit this restaurant last weekend in our visit to Brussels. We wanted to try frites and mussels (typical dish in Brussels). this restaurant had the dish in the menu for 12β¬ and it had first and second dish, plus wine and dessert. We got to sit by the fire, which was great because it was really cold outside. The service was good but a little slow. The food was great. Good place to have good food and don't spend a lot of money.

β β β β β They have a sales guy out front just waiting for you to hesitate for a moment and he will begin his pressure pitch to bring you inside, usually an offer of a round of free beers. They'll advertise a three course meal for 18 Euros too.
What you end up getting is a warm beer, and about 6 different menus, some with prices and some without.
Careful not to get anything off the menus with no pricing, I've heard they blindside you with the cost at the end. We got the three course meal and the results were quite sad from a culinary standpoint.
Service was very shoddy. The one redeeming thing about the experience was we got to sit by the window and watch their sales guy try to catch other tourists unawares to convince them to come in. I have to admit he was effective. I am not positive but I believe I saw them switch out the street menus to show the three course meal at different prices throughout the night. Based on reading other reviews they seem to employ demand driven pricing which is very alarming and unprofessional.

β β β β β The service was not professional. We waited for a long time. The food had some good dishes and others not tasty. For price quality is not recommended.

β β β β β Friendly staff but I couldnβt help but feel deceived. I was in a group of 5 people and we were convinced by a staff member to come inside. We were offered first round of drinks on the house for all of us (almost every restaurant we walked past offered this enticement). When we sat down, the waiter immediately suggested to us two large seafood platters, referring us to a special menu with colourful pictures and no prices. The total price for the 2 platters and one drink of house wine each came to β¬270!! This was a huge shock to all of us. Thereβs want really much we could do as this was our fault for not asking the price of the food before we ordered. The food wasnβt anything special, most of the seafood was frozen and just reheated. But at the same time, why does this restaurant not include prices of their menu? We were the only customers in the restaurant that nigfht so I can see why they use this deceptive tactic. I would avoid this place!

β β β β β The 18 euro menu is pretty good but the wait is too long. Couldnβt wait for the dessert.

β β β β β Very VERY slow service. The smiles from the door ends in the minute you sit down. Ordered musels and they were not fresh at all. The sangrΓa was wine and water. Would not recomend, its a tourist trap.
It was my second time in Brusels and I have tried better food in the same street. DONT GO IN.

β β β β β BEWARE!
This is the very first restaurant we have dine in when we first arrive in Brussels. It is unfortunately a terrible experience.
When we got into the "pulled" into the restaurant by a friendly gentleman and the service staff was very friendly and helpful (accommodating to our vegetarian diet).
The first unusual sign is when we were not accessed a menu when ordering food.
The standard of service the dropped tremendously over time as food is served. And food served isn't of the best of quality.
What really makes this place a terrible place is how unethical it is. We are charged a total of 224 Euros for 3 portion of Spaghetti and 3 portions of Fried rice. It is not that we are unable to afford an expensive meal but rather how dishonest we are tricked into this "tourist" trap and effectively spoiling an otherwise wonderful evening.
For what it's worth, learn from this mistake we have made and don't commit it. And for those whom have been tricked into this trap and is seeking some sort of comfort, you are not alone :)
