About Kaleidoscope
So in April 2009, we opened the doors to Kaleidoscope, to try and dust off the old image of home-made ‘granny’ garments, and show a modern, more contemporary image, hoping to appeal to both young and old alike .
With our motto being ‘I made it myself’, our courses took off and since then we have taught many people the joy of knitting and crochet.
At Kaleidoscope we can help you choose the best project for your budget and your level of experience as well as offer advice and tips to succeed!
We stock a large range of hand-dyed yarns, un-dyed yarns, organic certified yarns, and some fair trade yarns.
Our love for ‘natural’ good quality products has led us in our choices.
All our yarns include many different types/breeds of wool, and other fibres like silk, cotton, & linen etc . Only a few of our yarns contain up to 25% nylon which is advised for durability and frequently washed items like socks etc.
Whenever possible we try to offer products from small, lesser known independent brands in addition to some of the larger well-known ones including: BC Garn (Denmark) – CaMaRose (Denmark) – De Rerum Natura (France) – Fyberspates (UK) – Kremke Soul Wool (Germany) – Lifeinthelonggrass (Ireland) – Knitting for Olive (Denmark) – Stolen Stitches (Ireland) – Kate Davies yarns (Scotland) – Olann Textiles (Ireland) – ITO Yarns (Japan) – Coop Knits (UK) – and our very own brand HDB (Hand-dyed in Belgium) – Soak products (US) – Chiaogoo & Knit Pro needles – and knitting publications including LAINE & Pompom magazine + many other lovely books.
It’s lovely to hear our customers say: “what a lovely shop! You have so many nice things to look at”.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I found this is a delightful yarn store with a wonderful selection of yarn, good ideas, and very kind helpful staff. I'm sorry that I live so far away in the US.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After many years of showing up during summer closings or mondays, I finally got to step inside. The selection of the shop is gorgeous but, even though there were people in the shop that were not busy, no one made the effort of even welcoming me. I was a little disappointed by that.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a really beautiful shop with a really friendly staff! It was just a shame I had so little time to look around. If I ever visit Brussels again this will definitely be on my to-go list!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A delightful local yarn shop run by an English woman who also speaks fluent French. Excellent for knitters, it is also very crochet-friendly.
There is a wide variety of high end yarns available, including some Japanese yarns that I hadn't seen before and that were very reasonably priced.
I bought some Malabrigo Mechita at a comparable price to that in the UK.
The owner is very knowledgeable and interesting about the yarns and is also willing to leave people to browse unmolested. It was a very enjoyable experience and worth a special trip, especially as the shop is very near a Metro station.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This shop is lovely and carries a number of beautiful yarns, books and notions! Also, the yarn shop owner went absolutely above and beyond for me when I had accidentally forgotten some yarn, so the people whom run it are also wonderful.
It's definitely worth a visit in Brussels and is in an interesting part of the city!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing store! Lovely lady with a great passion for knitting and definitely know her stuff. Great chat. For the other knitters or knitter-to-be, ring before you come to check the opening hours. Or, she’s usually there on Friday and Sat
