I have on regular basis meetings in Ghent. This IBIS hotel is where I use to stay for one night. I am satisfied, like the other events.

The PROs - Center of town and everything is in walking distance. Beds are nice not so much the pillows way too soft. Rooms are basic. Though wooden floors so every time a person moves the chair you hear it (early morning, late night) and I was woken up. Standard bathroom. Furniture looks like Ikea stuff. Price of the room was v good but don’t use the hotel parking park at P5 Kouten $10 cheaper!! 8 Minute walk to hotel. AND EVERYONE needs to check the vehicle rules on driving into Gent as if you don’t register your car AND receive approve prior to entering the city the fine is 150 EUROs!!! It has to do with emission controls. EVERYONE MUST register! And if you are going to drive in the inner center, you need to have the Hotel register you as well otherwise you will receive another fine! Not so friendly towards the tourist. The Local Police assisted me greatly on instructions and directions. The Emission control and inner city zones are loaded with cameras so you are caught once you cross those boundaries. Other than that the food is great, check restaurants as prices do vary.

One night stay while in town to visit museums. Great location, pleasant environment, small and basic room which was perfectly comfortable and quiet. Friendly and helpful staff especially in the breakfast room.

Perfect location, we had a beautiful room right in front with the view of the cathedral. Quick check in Parking available but it was full due to our last minute booking. Otherwise, Parking Kouter is a 5 mins walk away, Albert Heijn supermarket right in front of the parking and close to the hotel. Great place for a few nights.

Pro: - good location, in the heart of city centre - good price - clean room - nice breakfast - most of staffs were friendly and helpful Con: - parking needs to be pre-booked and extra charge. The entry is on the street where car is forbidden. Small entry/exit and difficult for big cars. - reception staff (a guy) who took our check in was unfriendly and unprofessional. Didn’t mention check out time/breakfast info, and insisted that we needed to pay immediately. Forgot to charge us for car park fee and asked us to pay when he saw us leaving the hotel for dinner. Even after we told him that we would like to pay when we check out together with room service, he insisted and said it’s more convenient for him. - first night without shower gel. Second day still no refill after room cleaning. Needed to inform them to get a refill. Will not come back unless there is no other option in the city.

The hotel was really nice and comfy, probably my favorite hotel that i've been in! Also in the most beautiful city I have visited! Staff were really friendly and the view from the room was amazing over the cathedral and the rest of the plaza! Definitely coming back to this city and hotel in the (near) future!

My colleagues and I stayed for 8 weeks in Jan/Feb 2022 for a work contract. I cannot say enough about the kindness and attentiveness of the staff as they tried to make the hotel our home away from home. They greeted us warmly every evening as we came home from work, made sure we had all that we needed, and helped us plan a small birthday celebration in the bar one afternoon. Truly special and we are so appreciative. The hotel was spotless and all staff followed COVID protocols. Breakfast was ample and the bar served a wide variety of beers and some snacks too. My room looked out onto the Kathedraal square and was quiet - I imagine the foot traffic at night in the summer would be more noisy but there are no bars or nightclubs in the square so it is all transient traffic. Trams start early but I easily got used to that. The location is everything! We walked everywhere and sampled a new restaurant almost every evening - there are so many that are so close and are so good! T'Vosken right across the square was one of my faves; traditional Belgian food with fantastic service. Ghent is a beautiful little city; we are lucky to have spent so much time there and to have the IBIS as our home base. Thank you!

Location is the best side of the hotel, but room we stayed in was very small. I don't know how tall people can use the toilet... Room and common areas were clean, we didn't see any problem with hygiene. Check in and out were easy, just dropping the key to the box was enough. We didn't get anything to eat from the kitchen, but tea service was good. Depending on the neighbors, it can be quite noisy.
