Het Hezehof

We bought our American akita 1,5 months ago. According his passport the puppy was born in Hungary on January 28th which would make him 4 months old on the date of the purchase and 6 months old by now. By now, he weighs 11 kg, hasn't lost a single tooth and his balls haven't even dropped yet which is not compatible with his passport age. The kennel and the Hungarian puppy mill they bought him from are not responsive and will not tell us anything about his real age or validity of vaccinations. Our vet and a professional Akita kennel both confirmed that we got him between 6 & 8 weeks of age. This means that information about his vaccinations is not correct and he was taken away from his mother too soon. It is a pity that het Hezenhof knowingly buys and re-sells puppies with fake passports, supporting unethical dog breeding. I love our dog, but I regret going there, and encourage you to buy puppies not from shops, but small local breeders.

The website looked really promising, however we were shocked by the location and how the dogs live there. The pups are kept in a barn like building in really tiny boxes/cages with a group of 4-8 other pups. Furthermore, we asked for a junior pup. We were told that the chosen pup would be born in autumn 2018. However, when we picked her up and saw the passport, it said that she was born in spring 2019. Now they posted (06-09-2019) that they have junior pups left of November 2018. We wanted to give an older pup the chance, since most people will reject them due to their age. It was promised that we will meet the parents, they told us they would be present when we pick our dog up. However they forgot and said that it would not be possible to get them spontaneously. Moreover, we got our junior pup underweight, she was really scared (more than usual) and the documentation in the passport did not match (wrong breed, wrong color). Until now our dog is fine, but we also think that you should not get a puppy from Het Hezehof in the future. They breed on mass and the dogs will not get any socialization and the care that dogs deserve.

Good: clean, good service (at least at the moment of the purchase) Not so good: Date of birth altered in the passport. This was confirmed by the vet, which explained that this is a normal practice in the Eastern countries (my GSD comes from Hungary). She was taken too young from her mother. Therefore the vaccination dates are altered as well. If the DOB is fake, who knows if the vaccinations were actually given? I would like the owner to confirm this. Our GSD came presented Kennel Cough and is currently on a deworming treatment due to persistent diarrhea, vet suspects Giardia. I love her but regret my purchase and contributing with this 'business'

This is a dog breeder place in Lummen. The puppies have a lot of room. The person in charge is really friendly and offered useful information. The only negative point is the fact that they haven't bancontact (only cash).

The place is amazing and staff is super attentive. All super professional and dogs well taken care. They explained everything about the dogs and other things we wanted to know. The lost star is because of the work we had to do to withdraw cash (they don't accept cards), also they were very rigid (not flexible) when my daughter got a bed and we had to buy it once the dog went on top of it and had a small stain on it.

We are very happy to buy a dog. We highly recommend breeding. Our dog is healthy and is doing very well. Thank you to the breeding for a new family member :)

Recently picked up our new family member Spud at Hezehof. This Australian Shepherd came with all the necessary information and we have been helped very well. Upon arrival we saw that it is a professional kennel with an understanding of the business. Pups are well cared for and the on-site supplies store is super handy.

We were looking for a Sharpei pup and they are quiet hard to find. When searching online I found Het Hezehof. I went there to have a look at the Sharpei pups and connected with one right away. After meeting with the pup I think we are both sold :). If you are thinking of buying a puppy have a look at Het Hezehof and probably you will find your four legged soulmate
