This place on the highest point of the nearby fields is witness to the battlefield which gave John the fierless (Jan zonder vrees) his name: 35th well trained men of the Duke of Burgondy against 50th Common people of Liege and Tongres. The Duke won the battle and the the city of Liege was definitely under control. It still has a solumn atmosphere reminding us of the 35th men who died here.
