β β β β β Today we were visiting the exhibition with two 10 years old children. We got the audioguides at the entrance that were set in our selected languages, when we approached the objects explained in the audioguides we could select if the listener was a child or an adult, this made the visit very enjoyable for both groups of ages. The kids were listening and answering some quiz and had a great time. Additionally there was some interactive screens where the children could listen and learn more about the exhibition (they enjoyed them). The exhibition was larger and more impressive that what I had expected, still it was a nice size for a family (not too overwhelming). We will come back soon. Additionally, last week I purchased a book online ('100 key pieces, one hundred stories by Gallo-Roman Museum Tongeren) that explains a selection of 100 artefacts exhibited in the museum for preparing a kind of treasure hunt with a few of the artefacts, that activity was also welcomed. And finally, the most important, the staff went an extra mile in every possible way to make the visit as sucessfull as it was, we are extremely grateful to them!

β β β β β Excellent museum, although we visited only the temporary exhibition called " Dacia Felix". The museum is very well organised, with very friendly staff and an excellent bistro inside. We would highly recommend the "Dacia Felix" which stays in town until 29th April 2020 and displays wonderful artifacts from the ancient Dacia.

β β β β β The current exhibition is a real must see with exceptional items from the vast collection of the British Museum. But the way the artefacts are presented is in itself worthwhile of your visit. A perfect audioguide and interactive panels for children makes you forget time during your flash back into ancient roman time. Top.

β β β β β One of the friendliest museums in Belgium. The Museum of Gallo-Roman History sketches the story of mankind from prehistoric times to the fifth century AD in a beautiful permanent collection. The emphasis is on society in and around Belgium during the Roman Empire and the evolution of society under Roman rule. The collection is interesting and excellently illustrated. A quadrilingual audioguide (Dutch, English, French, German) guides you around and provides a lot of information. The plaques are also very informative and accessible. Itβs a great place to visit with children as well, offering special kidβs audio explanation and games throughout the museum. It is a very impressive visitor experience. There was a very nice temporary exhibition in cooperation with the British Museum. It has a shop and cafeteria (the latter closed at the moment). The museum is housed in an impressive modern building right in the middle of beautiful Tongeren. Definitely worth a visit.

β β β β β Great to take a (accompanied by great audio guide if you like) stroll through history and be reminded of what way we have come. Also great for kids (I'd say ages 6/7 and up) with the search (and small reward!) throughout the museum.

β β β β β Really great museum, the audioguide really helps because all things are mainly in dutch or in french. It is really interactive so it would be great for kids. It takes around 3 hours to visit everything in the museum. The shop is really cheap compared to other museums. The entry is 8 for adults, 1 for kids, and 5 for students.

β β β β β A smooth museum experience with thousands of artifacts on display from prehistoric to ancient times. Displays are in Dutch but audio guides were available in multiple languages. There were even free postcards given away at the end of the exhibit.
