β β β β β A hidden gem in the centre of Brussels. This unique masterpiece of Victor Horta deserves to be restored to its original glory. Thank you so much Foundation Frison Horta to keeping Horta's dream vivid and alive.

β β β β β It is a 19th century mansion made by Victor Horta and according to me it is one of the most prominent Horta architectures of the city. It is so beautifully restored and preserved that it almost took me back in time.

β β β β β What an inspiring place! The owner of the aptly named "living museum" takes great care to show and tell the building's story. The winter garden is a real Brussels gem, not to be missed.

β β β β β This museum is really a secret pearl in the heart of Brussels....It is astonishing to discover in this street, that leeds to 'Sablon', all the beauty Horta created with this house (especially the winter garden!). The passionated Lady of the house will offer you un unforgettable visit. We are wishing her all the luck with the continuity of the restauration.

β β β β β Visited the museum last Friday, with my husband, and the trip was really fascinating. This is the first time I visited a Living Museum and I loved the winter garden and all the 19th century furniture. The owner showed us around and narrated the story of the house and of Victor Horta.

β β β β β Nice house but the visit is too concentrated on how much the renovation costs and the only thing the owner wants is our money. A pity.

β β β β β A hidden gem in the heart of the city, walking distance to Brussel's major museums. If the Horta Museum is too out of the way for you, I highly recommend the Fondation Frison Horta as an alternative.
The house is a living time capsule and active restoration project. Not yet a fully finished house museum, but the lack of velvet ropes makes for a more unique and immersive visit. Well worth the price of admission for the private tour and the explanation of all the work being done to redeem the house's original features, and you have the satisfaction of knowing you have contributed to the future of a great architectural monument. There is still plenty to see in terms of original murals, furniture, and architectural details.
