El Rancho Steak House - Statiestraat 22

We have visited the restaurant on August 2nd 2018 around 19:15. There were a couple of free tables outside on the terrace. We picked one of the tables & tried to sat to order our dinner. We were with three adults & three kids (four yrs and below). We are not from Belgium. One of the personnel came to us & told us that the table is reserved. There was noting which shows that the table is indeed reserved. I asked him why they didn’t put a reserved sign or word on the table and asked him politely to show us the unreserved tables. There were 7 tables in three different directions on the terrace. He left us and went inside to the restaurant without giving us an answer. I was perplexed how rude that personnel is being to us. Even those people who were eating outside and hearing our conversation were surprised in his actions. I was very upset the way he was treating us and went to inside to talk to him. He was already in the kitchen. I asked the man behind the bar to call him for me. He came from the kitchen & told me that all the tables on the terrace are reserved & he does not want to argue with me. If We want to eat, we can eat inside the restaurant under the temperature of above 30 degrees (86 °F) or we can leave. And again he left to his kitchen. It was then very clear to me that we are not welcome to the restaurant or at least we are not welcome to sit on the terrace. He was treating us so badly because of two reasons. One: we were with kids and the restaurant doesn’t like kids. Second: it can be because of our colors (brown). It was my first experience in my life that I am not welcome in a restaurant. This customer unfriendly restaurant should be avoided from a list of restaurants to be visited when u r in Antwerpen. I would have rated it -100, if it was possible. It doesn’t even deserve a zero.

I'm sorry to say, but the quality of the service is at best mediocre. There used to be decent staff here, but that is not the case anymore... They have no sense for hygiene, touching everything that we, customers are later going to put in our mouth. Waiters don't know how to serve glasses without grabbing (and not touching) it at the part where I'm gonna drink if it. There's also a problem with their language skills. I don't mind that they don't speak Flemish, I'm a foreigner, too. But they are often having a hard time understandig English, if what's being asked from them is outside of their regular waiter-guest chit-chat. And that is a problem. I used to visit this place very often, but in past times I have started avoiding it. Otherwise the food quality is ok, I'd put it to a strong average level. Nothing very special here, the place caters more for the quantity than the quality. Please, send them waiters to do some course or something... Last time (when they were grabbing my glass at the wrong part) they didn't even understand what a straw was. We, guests have to communicate with the waiters somehow, and I prefer being understood instead of having to refer to hand gestures. ?

Excellent meat, low price!

Visited on a busy Saturday evening and got a table outside. Friendly staff, ordered wine and a beer, then food order of tomato and tuna. and a shrimp dish starters. and two steaks with garlic and salad, we were given dips with bread to nibble on before our food, very tempting to fill up with the bread tho, the tomato starter was big, I didnt finish it, wanted to leave room for steak. Both our steaks were cooked to order., and very tasty, we enjoyed our food and enjoyed people watching in the surrounding area, worth a visit:)

Argentinian grill restaurant. Food is fine, but more cleaning and maintenance are needed. I know, this hint of sloppiness and negligence is a general problem for Antwerpen

The steak was cooked a perfect medium-rare, just the way I ordered it, with a beautiful pink center and a brown crust on the outside. The taste was incredible, a very nicely-seasoned steak, hardly surprising, after all, how can one expect a bad or even a mediocre steak at an argentinian steakhouse. Fries had a beautiful golden colour and had just the right amount of crispiness. A very solid dish, one of the better steakhouses here in Antwerp. The pricing was fair, especially considering the amazing taste of the dish and the highly generous portion sizes. Taking all things into consideration, it was an incredible experience overall, while the service could definitely use some work, it was still far from terrible and the food paired with the fair-pricing alone would justify paying a visit to this marvellous place. A definite recommendation of mine, and you can bet I will be frequenting this place quite a lot for the foreseeable future.
