Vlakbij is ook de ingang van het natuurreservaat De Pont met een parkeerterrein vlakbij. De tuin werd genoemd naar de Vlaamse plantkunde Rembrandt Dodoens (1517 - 1585) wiens standbeeld in de tuin te bekijken is. De tuin is eigenlijk een historische reconstructie van een geneeskruidentuin uit de 16de eeuw. Er is hier normaal heel wat beweging en activiteit. Men kan zich bijvoorbeeld inschrijven voor workshops , voor een cursus moestuinieren enz. Er zijn ook open tuindagen . Erg interessant en aan te raden. This well-known garden is located in a beautiful location next to the Orangerie in the Schildehof Park. Nearby is also the entrance to the De Pont nature reserve with a parking lot nearby. The garden was named after the Flemish botanist Rembrandt Dodoens (1517 - 1585) whose statue can be seen in the garden. The garden is actually a historical reconstruction of a medicinal herb garden from the 16th century. There is normally a lot of movement and activity here. For example , you can register for workshops , for a vegetable gardening course , etc. There are also open garden days . Very interesting and recommended.
