Although there is not much to see, it gives a good idea of what it was like. The explanation on the signs is also good. Especially by bike a beautiful area and then you can visit a number of points.

Beautiful cycling / walking route, along a piece of WW1 history that most people do not even know.

Small sample of what was the barbed wire of death, 200 kilometers of 2000 volt wires that divided the border between Belgium and the Netherlands. It existed from 1915 to 1918 and caused more than 3,000 victims. A place to never forget.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Although it's a reconstruction, it's still a place to remember World War I. It represents the border between Belgium and the Netherlands. The original Dodendraad (Wire of Death) was more than 300 km long.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ To prevent the Belgians from fleeing into Netherlands during World War, Germany put up an electric fence along the border. But there were many ways in which Belgians fled into Netherlands (though many died trying to escape) and one of the way is this 'passeursraam'. This is a foldable wooden frame which could be inserted between 2 wires and opened up, leaving a insulated opening for people to escape safely.
There is a dedicated 38km cycling route called Dodendraadpad (Dead Wire Route) that crosses the sites associated with the World War.
