The food is good but the portion of food is very small. You should almost order two portions to have enough.
The cocktails offered were not a wow, I would take some soft drink next time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I don't think I've ever eaten such amazing chicken before. It just falls apart if you look at it too intensely, which it of course did as I couldn't keep my eyes of it. Not only the meat here is absolutely scrumptious, but the side dishes are amazing as well. I didn't know you could do such amazing things with something as simple as spinach. Definitely worth a try, will visit again if I'm nearby.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve been in De Saffraan a couple of times and I am always very happy to come back. I tried already several dishes of the menu, if it is your first time trying Afghan gastronomy I would advise you to try their discovering menu and choose among other dishes Mantoe (my favorite) and the famous Kabuli Palo and not to forget to taste their very special Safron beer. In my experience the personnel is very friendly and attentive and the decoration of the restaurant give it a very warm eastern atmosphere. If your are in Gent and you want to try something good and different you should definitely come to De Saffraan!

The food is too greasy, the onions weren't fully cooked making the whole dish taste of raw onions.
