★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful old windmill located on the banks of the river Schelde in the mostly deserted village of Doel.
Literally a stones throw away from the nuclear power plant.
The restaurant serves a selection of Flemish classics and has a large outdoor seating area where drinks and snacks can be ordered.
Meals are only served inside!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Surprising bar in a surprising place. Modern, peaceful, great view on the canal from the top of the hill. Lovely service for a very welcome drink after a long day visiting doel and neighbourhood. Strongly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good place for a drink and a bite while visiting the otherwise almost deserted village Doel. Windmill dating back to 1614, must have seen quite a lot as it oversees the river Schelde and the backlands. Situated right on top of the dyke it offers a stunning view on the environment. There is a small terrace, inside surprised me actually with the number of seats they offer. Not sure howngoodnthe food is, but it seems OK. Friendly staff!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I ordered a beer at this restaurant and it was great. My friends all ordered rice pudding and it tasted like sweetened Milan risotto. Inedible. Plus the staff is very rude towards young people.
