★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Citadel of Namur is located on top of a hill overlooking the city. The views in all directions are gorgeous.
You can either walk upstairs, or take a gondola.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great place to walk around and experience different atmospheres, time periods, viewpoints, tunnels, nature, etc, all in one place. Some of the paid activities are worth it (visits of the underground galleries or eating at a terrace on top of the citadel), but otherwise there is plenty of things to do for free ! From strolling families to one-day tourists or even joggers, I would recommend it to everyone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One whole day looking back in the war history. We all learned much. Many interesting thing to see and do. All by all not a cheap day. Two days after we’ve been there there was a big water flooding with lots of damage. Our respect for all the volunteer helpers. ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very beautiful place to visit. Prepare yourself for a lot of walking. Place is nice and clean. One of caffe bars was closed because of restauration but never mind. Lot of beautiful points from witch you can see kilometers around. If you are in Mons, this place is you must visit!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ very nice and relatively quiet place, we parked on the hill at the large parking lot in front of the theater auditorium, we walked towards the main building, the man at the reception knew English, he explained to us every possibility we can do on the place, there is a museum of history of the fortress inside but we did not go there (because of kids), the tunnels are only guided so it is not possible to go there alone, the train was stand-by by one hour so we chose the possibility of a free walking around the area, pros: free toilet, small caffee inside, free movement, not so many people, very kind receptionist, cons: the cable car runs only until 17:00

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stunning architecture, feels very Roman, and you get stunning views of the city of Namur. Walking till the castle with the kids took quite some time but the walk was totally worth it and very satisfying.
