★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Deze kleine kapel is niet makkelijk te vinden omdat ze verscholen staat achter aan groene muur van bomen en struiken. Er ligt daar een wirrewar aan wandel - en fietspaden en het is echt de moeite om ze eens op te zoeken.
Ze werd opgericht in 1859 door juffrouw Mathilde de Caters.
De kapel is erkend als Bouwkundig Erfgoed sedert 2019 en staat aangeduid als beschermd cultuurhistorisch landschap Brechtse Heide sedert 1977.
 This small chapel is not easy to find because it is hidden behind a green wall of trees and shrubs. There is a maze of walking and cycling paths there and it is really worthwhile to look them up.
It was founded in 1859 by Miss Mathilde de Caters.
The chapel has been recognized as Architectural Heritage since 2019 and has been designated a protected cultural-historical landscape in Brechtse Heide since 1977.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Naar verluidt werd de Caterskapel in 1859 in opdracht van Barones Mathilde de Caters uit 's-Gravenwezel gebouwd uit dankbaarheid omdat zij op deze plaats een ongeval met haar koets overleefde.
Het mooie, nostalgische gebouw is helaas dringend aan opfrissing toe en wordt verstikt door woekerende rhododendrons die de oorspronkelijke charme van deze locatie aanzienlijk wat schade berokkenen.
De kapel is jammer genoeg niet toegankelijk, maar al bij al toch een bezoekje waard.
It is said that the Caters Chapel was built in 1859 by order of Baroness Mathilde de Caters from 's-Gravenwezel out of gratitude because she survived an accident with her carriage at this location.
Sadly, the beautiful, nostalgic building is in dire need of refurbishment and is suffocated by proliferating rhododendrons that do considerable damage to the original charm of this location.
Unfortunately, the chapel is not accessible, but all in all it is worth a visit.
