Bâtiment iconique de St-Gilles, inauguré en 1905, l’Aegidium fut un haut-lieu des nuits et des fêtes bruxelloises au début du XXème siècle. Cette salle, habillée à l’orientale, abrita de grandioses spectacles, des représentations cinématographiques et des activités paroissiales avant de sombrer dans l’oubli au début des années 80.
À l’avant du bâtiment, un café restaurant invite à la curiosité : le Café Flora. 114 ans après son ouverture initiale, il reprend enfin vie. L’inspiration démarre par les années 30 dans un esprit café milanais, ensuite on s’arrête dans les années 80 au détour du mouvement Memphis.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small menu and no English translations available which is fine and to be expected but it takes a while to figure out what you're ordering (especially if you're a vegetarian as there is no symbol or indication). The food and coffee were nice and the service good. We were asked to move tables early on to a smaller table to allow for any larger parties who might come along, which was a little inconvenient but was fair enough for a small place

However I was a bit disappointed when I ordered a London Mule and couldn't really taste any of the usual flavors!
I will come again and order something else. Might not have been a good bartender.
