D	Dirk Sabbe on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is a staple in the Ghent food scene. No doubt about it. Brasserie Ha' has offered a constant level of quality since the place opened it's doors. Visit this place if you like Belgian-French cuisine with a little twist. They offer an excellent tomato & shrimp salad, several kinds of steak and wonderful deserts. And... if you order champagne for aperitif you get a couple of oysters for free.

I would highly recommend getting the shrimp croquets to start and the steak with peppercorn sauce for a main. The creme brulee dessert was just okay. Great atmosphere and attentive staff made it a lovely meal.

The food was good, but unfortunately there was a mistake in the service and the starter we had ordered (oysters) was forgotten. This meant that all our mains were initially brought to the table first, then put aside and re-heated and finally brought back to our table only after we had eaten the starter. Our dining experience was thus negatively impacted even if, to apologise, we were offered the dessert, and we appreciated that. On the positive side, the location was really nice, as well as the ambience, including the outstanding toilets. I would therefore give them another chance, but was not particularly impressed that evening, mostly because of the problem with the service, but also by the food itself, which was good, but not exceptional, so to fully compesate for the mistake.
