Had been there a few years ago, have to admit they were not satisfied then, but now it was super quality, both the reception and the food Highly recommended again

The interior is neat, the food was good and the staff friendly, but it was extremely noisy and the service left a lot to be desired. Flat water tastes like tap water and is served in a bottle with a logo of the restaurant itself, which only added to the doubts and left a very bad impression on me considering you pay for it. My family had made a reservation by phone for a birthday and specifically asked for coffee and tea with the cake. They brought the cake, but we never saw tea and coffee. Apparently one has to ask for it again, despite the fact that this was agreed upon. Not a child-friendly restaurant either, my 5-year-old niece was bored to death there (luckily she was still able to occupy herself with games on the smartphone), so with young children it is better to go elsewhere.

I was quite taken with this place. Located in the village centre of Deerlijk near my colleague's home, I found it to be quite a charming spot. Featuring continental cuisine with a Belgian and French twist, the steaks are the highlight. The moderate-sized dining room offered a standard but pleasant decor. It was certainly conducive to an enjoyable dinner as there was a lovely ambiance that emanated from a relaxed atmosphere. It was an owner-operated establishment, which always presents the best conditions for above-average service. The service in this case was indeed excellent. The menu offered some terrific choices. My colleague told me that their specialty is the Filet Pur. Hence, that was the choice for mains for both of us. He started with a trio of croquettes, which he found to be agreeable. I had the lobster bisque, which I thought was well done with a good, hearty flavor. The steaks, both done with a peppercorn sauce, were the highlights of our meals. I am not a heavy red meat consumer, but I have to say that I enjoyed this dish immensely, and would recommend it to anyone who has a partiality to steak. Their wine selection was decent. The Malbec we had to accompany the meal was a little unusual as it was a bit fruitier with more of an oaken overtone than I normally have had. But it was good nonetheless. The fare was not cheap. My colleague picked up the bill, so I did not see the final price tag. I'd have to think that it approached €150 with the aperitifs, the appetizer, mains, the bottle of wine and finishing coffees. But I'd say it was worth it nonetheless. This place offers a great chance for a lovely night out, or an excellent spot for a business dinner.
