β β β β β Wonderful gem, with very caring and friendly staff. As the only vegetarian of my group I was treated to a grilled camembert, fries and a truly delicious salad. Was not disappointed!! 100% would order again.
The rest of the group greatly enjoyed their steaks and beers. Thank you to the staff for being so helpful and forthcoming.

We went there with thought decent place to eat but when we finish we had massive smile on our face because Eetroeg in βt Nieuw Museum turn to be a amazing place for diner for people who love good quality and well made stake and not only. First of all service whoβs are also owners, despite was only two of them, done very good job and they are really lovely and friendly people who make restaurant feel very homely and also make you feel like you want stay there Little bit longer, even when you finished your meal. Owners also have very great knowledge about stakes and can give advice about type of cut and what best way to serve. I am myself steak lover and love cook them and this place made very good impression on me specially how they cook, they have big open grill with flaming fire and they cook your steaks and meats in front of you. You need to be prepare if you order stake it will take a while to made it but thatβs what it take to make good cut on grill, you canβt rush otherwise you burn and destroy steak. Coming to food, well canβt say nothing else then superb I ordered lamb crown in port souse, lamb was perfectly cooked, tender, meaty and souse compose with it ideally. My other half had rib eye steak 4 weeks matured Montbellarde which was really prime cut. She ordered meadium it came as she ask. Was also tender , lovely smokey hint, delicious.
We had amazing night and diner in Eetkroeg in βt Nieuw Museum. I totally recommend to all meat lovers whoβs can appreciate good steak.

β β β β β This restaurant is owned by a friendly couple who really know what they are doing. Their food menu is somewhat limited, but they do that extremely well. Go visit this hidden gem, but make sure you make a reservation!

β β β β β Such a great place this! Really friendly people. Feels like a homy living room. Meat is grilled in the dining area which gives lots of atmosphere. The lady that served us had great knowledge about whines, beers and meat! Excellent meat, 400 grams Angus ribe-eye and Jambonneau Portion more then enough no more room for dessert! Solid 5/5

β β β β β Excellent excellent food! Ordered the chefs choice Ribeye and my partner ordered the 6 week one. Meat didnβt even need the sauce it comes with. It had so much flavor. The Syrah wine we had was also really good.
The restaurant was pricier than I expected though - 60 euros for the 400g Ribeye hence the 4 rating and not a 5. We will probably be back in the future

β β β β β I was on a culinary adventure in Belgium, and was quite excited to try this restaurant. Unfortunately, I left disappointed.
It's a cute, homey restaurant on the inside. I was seated promptly. The service was great and both servers were helpful in guiding me through their vast beer selection.
My food arrived fairly quickly, but the rib-eye I ordered was disappointing and overpriced.
Shame on me for once again giving steak a try in the UK or Europe. I'm spoiled by great steak places in the US like Capital Grille, but have always found the steaks on the other side of the pond to be lacking. With their 'short chain' local menu and 60+ Euro prices for a rib-eye, I thought maybe I'd finally find a worthy Old World steak at Nieuw. Nope - mine was gristly and not especially tender. In the grand scheme of restaurant steaks, it was decidedly average and would have been okay at 30 Euros. At 2x that, it was just ridiculously overpriced.
Of all the restaurants I visited on my 8 days, this is the only one I'd not return to and would guide other travelers to avoid (or at least, to avoid their featured rib-eyes).
