Ik woon nu bijna een jaar in het historisch centrum van Antwerpen maar tijdens de tour ben ik erg veel nieuwe weetjes te weten gekomen over cafés, standbeelden, kerken, .. Ook zijn we voorbije enkele verborgen parels gekomen waarvan ik niet wist dat deze zelfs bestonden. Tijdens de tour zijn we ook op enkele plaatsen gestopt om te eten. Ik ga nog niks verklappen over welke plaatsen en wat we juist gegeten hebben, ik kan alleen zeggen dat het allemaal zéér lekker en origineel was. er zat ook een goede balans tussen de gerechten die we konden proeven. Sommige zaken kende ik ook nog niet of ik was er nog nooit binnen geweest. De tour op zich duurde lang genoeg en de gids had zijn uitleg goed voorbereid waardoor alles zeer vlot verliep. Hij gaf ook aandacht aan iedereen, beantwoorde vragen, maakte af en toe een grap en hij wist ook hoe rekening te houden met het diverse publiek dat aanwezig was. Een echt natuurtalent. Ik had mijn ouders meegenomen en deze waren ook achteraf laaiend enthousiast over de tour en de manier waarop de gids ons meenam doorheen deze historische en culinaire reis. een aanrader en must voor iedereen die in Antwerpen woont of deze stad wenst te bezoeken ! Participating in the brand new Belgium Food Tours was a great experience. I have been living in the historic center of Antwerp for almost a year now, but during the tour I learned a lot about new facts about cafes, statues, churches, .. We also passed some hidden gems that I didn't even know existed . During the tour we also stopped to eat at a few places. I am not going to reveal anything about which places and what we ate, I can only say that it was all very tasty and original. there was also a good balance between the dishes that we could taste. I also didn't know some things or I had never been inside. The tour itself lasted long enough and the guide had prepared his explanation well so that everything went very smoothly. He also paid attention to everyone, answered questions, occasionally made a joke and he also knew how to take into account the diverse audience that was present. A real natural talent. I had brought my parents and they were also very enthusiastic about the tour and the way the guide took us through this historical and culinary journey. a must and must for anyone who lives in Antwerp or wants to visit this city!

Our guide Cornelis, with his great sense of humor and knowledge about Antwerp managed to entertain a group of people who have very little in common into having a great afternoon, filled with food and laughter. He also provided cultural and historical context to the sites we visited along the tour route. On the whole, it was delicious bites, interesting stories and lots of fun.
