Belfius, known before March 1, 2012 as Dexia Bank Belgium is a banking and insurance service company. It is a commercial limited company whose primary purpose was to meet the needs of local communities. It comes from the dismantling of the Dexia group of which it was a member until October 10, 2011. It was bought by the Belgian state for 4 billion euros. Its head office is in Brussels.
