Ces dispositifs urbains anciens peuvent nous en apprendre beaucoup quant à la manière de faire la ville contemporaine (renouvellement urbain, vivre-ensemble, mixité, échelle). Qui plus est, la Belgique (dont la Flandre) possède un savoir-faire indéniable quant à la gestion de son patrimoine architectural, tant public que privé.
Exceptional. Beguines, especially Ghent or Kortrijk, are magical places. These ancient urban devices can tell us a lot about how to make the contemporary city (urban renewal, living together, diversity, scale). What is more, Belgium (including Flanders) has undeniable know-how in the management of its architectural heritage, both public and private.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mooi en rustig gelegen, de huisjes zijn netjes opgeknapt, er is ook een ldc gevestigd genaamd Tenhove. Het is er altijd rustig behalve op zondag dan krijg je de kerk klokken te horen en ze zijn luid.
Nice and quiet location, the houses have been nicely renovated, there is also an ldc located called Tenhove. It is always quiet except on Sundays when you get to hear the church bells and they are loud.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I understand this beguinage was "swalled by the growing city" (as it was written in the other Saint Elizabeth beguinage in the city, east), therefore do not expect walls around it and the tipical atmosphere. However, some streets, buildings and their details, as well as the central church, give away its original function. Indeed, it was peaceful and quiet and a nice area to visit.
