★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've explicitly asked for a smoke-free car because I was travelling with my infant son. The front desk agent assured the car will be smoke-free. However it turned out that the heavy scent of air freshener was used to cover the smell of smoke that as the day went on became more and more obvious. I also found the ashtray containing ash and other garbage.
I had to drop the car after hours so there was nobody to complain at in person. I've sent an email and a follow-up email, but received no response.
The car was OK, besides the rear windshield wiper being broken off, but customer satisfaction isn't top priority.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They are not expensive, but already twice they just stole money when I returned the car for damages I did not do. You should be very careful with them and make pictures of the vehicle from all sides before traveling.

Eventually the car they gave me was much worse than what I paid for (terrible engine, which cost me a lot of money for fuel), but they 'didn't have anything else available'... Staff was not unfriendly, but not very cooperative either.

I booked a car online so I came there and only had to show my driver license, id and credit card for a copy. The contract signing was through a fancy computer thing and the contract was sent to my email straight away. Saving paper woohoow! Good job!
Within 5 minutes everything was done and I got a quite new Renault Clio, but very clean.
Staff was friendly to me, nothing to say about that.
I checked many prices, and Avis definitely was for my time the cheapest by far, including unlimited kilometers.
Would definitely recommend Avis!
