★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A charming little walking area with trees from around the world located just beside the forest museum, convenientely close to Brussels and the small train station of Groenendael.
Up the hill, there is a wide prairy like enclosed expanse in which you sometimes can see aurochs (the ancestor of the common cow).
It makes a nice little afterwork breather with an easily accessible parking lot.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just stumbled upon this place while running in the Sonian Forest. I was the only one there and it was very peaceful and beautiful. Relatively small area compared to the expansive surrounding forest, but definitely worth a visit if you are going to be in the area.
